Through education and outreach, MCD empowers local producers, landowners, and youth to engage with agriculture while learning about the importance, science, and history of the Grand Valley. MCD collaborates with local science and agriculture literacy programs, non-profit organizations, and Colorado Mesa University’s Environmental Science program. Through education and outreach, community members are made aware of the available resources offered by MCD or other partner organizations. This enables MCD to share potential future careers with youth within the region. The focus of these efforts would be to provide targeted education to each organization's specific mission and the general public regarding sustainable practices and programs to increase their awareness of natural resources.
