2025 Western Colorado Children’s Water Festival

Mesa Conservation District is proud to present our Water Use Warriors program. Students teamed up to balance water use between people, agriculture, and ecosystems. The catch, they did not have enough water to fill the required needs! Students worked with leaky cups, straws, pipettes, and rags to transport water from the water source to the water users. Through this activity, students reflected on why it is important to balance the needs of water users, outdated and leaky infrastructure, and why water is so important for Mesa County and the surrounding areas. Students reflected on water conservation and what that looks like in their lives!
