Agriculture Literacy and Education

Through agriculture literacy and education, Mesa Conservation District aims to educate local students on the importance of agriculture within their communities and the potential career options for the future. Through hands-on activities, students learn about drought-tolerant crops and water conservation, soil health principles, water use management, and plant sciences.

In summer 2025, Mesa Conservation District collaborated with Eureka! McConnell Science Museum and CSU Western Colorado Research Center with their Dig-In! agriculture education summer camps. Throughout the summer, students learned about the importance of plants and roots in soil, drought-tolerant crops in cooking, and plant propagation.

If you are interested in having Mesa Conservation District as a guest speaker in your classroom, camp, or educational program, email mesaconservationdistrict@gmail.com to schedule.
