Julie Shiflett
District Programs Coordinator
I am privileged to serve as the District Programs Coordinator of the Mesa Conservation District. As an agricultural economist, I have spent many years promoting stakeholder collaboration with agricultural producers, nonprofits, and various government agencies. I helped farmers and ranchers prepare feasibility studies for value-added projects and analyzed agricultural markets for opportunities. I also taught at Colorado Mesa University (CMU), Davis School of Business, and CMU Tech Agriculture programs. I volunteer for the Western Colorado Alliance, Plateau Valley’s Fire Department, the Mesa Community Center, and I previously volunteered for Plateau Valley’s 4-H club.
I have lived with my husband and three children in Plateau Valley for 18 years, helping to manage irrigation, grow alfalfa, and raise Boer goats and chickens.
