Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and passionate District Program Coordinator (DPC) to lead efforts in building and implementing sustainable and resilient district programming. This role is vital for building district capacity, developing and coordinating district programming, increasing community engagement, and implementing robust natural resource management practices. The DPC will oversee the identification, development, and management of key initiatives and projects, as well as coordinate and execute the implementation of new and existing programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Board of Supervisors (BOS) and District staff to develop innovative ideas, programs, and projects that advance the District’s mission.

  • Strengthen and diversify District capacity by working closely with the BOS and staff to identify opportunities for organizational growth and improved program delivery.

  • Identify, pursue, and secure fundraising and partnership opportunities that align with the District’s mission and values, supporting long-term financial and programmatic sustainability.

  • Prepare, submit, and manage Federal, State, and Local grant applications as directed by the BOS, ensuring compliance with all administrative, fiscal, and reporting requirements.

  • Lead and support District fundraising campaigns in collaboration with District staff to generate resources for programs and community initiatives.

  • Ensure the timely completion and submission of all project designs, deliverables, technical products, and grant reports, working closely with the District Manager to maintain accuracy, meet grant metrics, and uphold all District and funding-agency requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee District programs, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and execution of both existing and newly established initiatives.

  • Leverage established networks and advisory committees to design program curriculum, identify subject-matter experts, and coordinate presenters for workshops, forums, and educational series.

  • Coordinate the procurement, hiring, and oversight of design and engineering contractors for selected projects, ensuring effective communication and project alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a related field (preferred).

  • 5 years of experience in project coordination, ideally within the environmental, agricultural, or conservation sectors (preferred).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, implement, and scale innovative conservation-focused programs.

  • Proven experience working with State or Federal grant programs, including application development, reporting, and compliance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grant writing, technical writing, and public-facing communication abilities.

  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain program budgets and track expenditures.

  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and minimal supervision.

  • Experience planning, coordinating, and executing workshops, events, or educational programs.

  • Capacity to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a wide range of partners, community members, and District staff.

  • Ability to support team efforts to set, track, and accomplish strategic goals.

  • Experience in marketing, outreach, public relations, and/or fundraising, with skill in engaging diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and digital collaboration applications.

  • Knowledge of local agriculture, regional watershed hydrology, and/or soil systems.
