Board of Supervisors Opening

Mesa Conservation District is currently seeking a committed and community-minded individual to fill an open seat on our Board of Supervisors. We are especially interested in applicants with backgrounds in agriculture, accounting, or business management.

Mesa Conservation District is excited to announce that we have been selected for the Colorado Basin Roundtable PEPO Funds

In July, Mesa Conservation District presented lessons on drought-tolerant crops and plant propagation to Eureka and CSU-WCRC’s Dig-In summer camps. Students learned about what a drought is, how it impacts the food we grow and eat, and what crops are drought-tolerant! Additionally, students learned about how plants grow, including how plant grafts are used in agriculture!

MCD is excited to keep the education and outreach programs rolling into this fall with the support from the Colorado Basin PEPO funds! With these funds, we will be able to continue to our Youth Agricultural Literacy and Water Conservation Programming with CSU to facilitate farm field trips for D51 schools and other local students!

2026 Delta-Mesa Colorado Master Irrigator Sponsorships

As we prepare for the 2026 Delta-Mesa Colorado Master Irrigator program, Mesa Conservation District is in search of organizations or businesses that would be interested in sponsoring lunch for program participants for at least 1 session. All sponsors will be recognized on the Statewide ‘Colorado Master Irrigator’ website, the Delta and Mesa Conservation District websites, and in the Delta-Mesa Master Irrigator Program course materials. Sponsors will be provided space during the course to showcase their talents, services, and business/organization information. Join the Colorado Native Plant Society - Plateau chapter on September 3rd at the CSU Ethnobotany Learning Garden from 6 pm-7:30 pm. Join Merilee Shields, long time CSU Master Gardener, professional gardener and CoNPS member to learn about when and how to collect seeds and what is need to germinate them!
